Be sure to check our online Reservation Calendar! Marker 39 Fishing Report 06/11/08 Inshore: Shallow water red fishing is starting to pick up nicely. We are starting to see some good schools of fish in the skinny water and their appetite is improving too. :-) We are also catching some nice reds in the deeper water around structure like docks and pilings. Sheepshead are being landed around the bridge and dock pilings and flounder fishing is picking up as well. And we are still catching some speckled trout down near the Cape Fear River and in the bays behind Bald Head Island.
Offshore / Nearshore: King Mackerel fishing is the name of the game right now. Mahi are being landed in nice numbers from 18 miles on out and grouper are biting well in the 20+ mile area.
